Land Acknowledgement

Our student group would like to acknowledge the land that we settle in and the Indigenous peoples who are the original inhabitants of the land. The University of Alberta is located in Treaty 6 territory of which the Cree, Blackfoot, Metis, Nakota Sioux, and Saulteux peoples originally inhabited. We are very grateful for residing in this land and we would also like to acknowledge the continued problems faced by indigenous peoples as a result of our settlement. Our student group will continue to dedicate to create a safe space for oppressed groups to thrive and to understand more of each other.

We encourage you, the reader, to also learn more about the area of your land you reside in and about the history of your area.
